Historian David Lough discusses his two compelling books on Churchill, the critically acclaimed ‘No More Champagne: Churchill and His Money’ and ‘Darling Winston: Forty years of letters between Churchill and his Mother’, the latter is the first collection of this sparkling correspondence, revealing the central role in Winston’s upbringing and first years as a soldier, author and politician played by his brilliant American mother, Jennie Jerome, brimming with gossip, name-dropping and chutzpah.

David Lough has a first class degree in history from Oxford University. After a prominent career in finance and banking, he returned to history and writing.
