A fresh perspective on Churchill and wartime life through the eyes of nurse Doris Miles who looked after the Prime Minister when he was stricken with pneumonia in 1943. With unrivalled intimacy, her letters reveal a seldom-seen side of the great man and many amusing anecdotes. A poignant and perceptive collection of previously unpublished letters showing an ordinary person’s perspective of Churchill through a crucial period of the war.

Jill Rose was a computer scientist for many years, retired to South Florida. She has travelled to England especially to appear at WhitLit.
